Additional Photos

Here are some cool photos of things that we did that I didn't have when writing the blog posts about them. They're in no particular order. I wanted to put them up in a new post because I was afraid that if I went back and uploaded them in the post with which they belong, those who are interested would not think to go back and look for them in old posts.

This was the view from where I stood at the Globe to see "Titus."

There are these two tiny hobbit-sized houses on Queen Street (I believe)
that have no explanation, but are extraordinarily cute.

This is BNC's ironically named "Deer Park," which connects the Old and New Quads and we are NOT ALLOWED TO STEP ON THE GRASS. The name is a jab at Magdalen College's kind of snooty Deer Park that is massive and has actual deer in it. Magdalen is pronounced "Mawdlen" and is the most pretentious of the Oxford colleges.

This is the group in front of possibly the Pitt Rivers Museum. This was before Professor Connery learned of my tendency to ruin vastly improve group photos.

This was one of my favorite pieces of art at the Tate Modern - the artist spilled coffee on a canvas and then decided to meticulously embroider the stain that it made. I felt that it had the right balance of something anybody can do and something that requires skill. I have a hard time taking modern art that does not look like it took any effort seriously.

Here's an aerial view of Brasenose that somebody took from the top of St. Mary's cathedral. I sat this trip out because it was during the week and a half or so that my knee was hurting me and the old buildings in Oxford never compromise the ancient architecture by adding accommodations for the handicapped. It would be very, very hard to attend Oxford if you were physically handicapped. I have 3 flights of stairs to climb to get to my dorm room alone. Thankfully, my knee is fine now, but I can't help but think of those who have permanently restricted mobility every time that we're trudging up a flight of stairs that have no alternative.
On the left-hand side of the photo, you can see the top of the tree from the BNC Deer Park.

Here's another aerial photo that includes the Radcliffe Camera.

This is Kara O., me, and Holly in front of Westminster Abbey.

Here's most of our group at that one building down the street where the Hogwarts infirmary scenes were filmed and where Professor McGonagall taught the Gryffindors how to dance.
I can't keep the names of all these old buildings straight.
Kara O.'s photo of me punting on the Thames!

Here's one more picture from "As You Like It" that includes Silvius, one of the hippie shepherds, which is my favorite re-imagining of a group of Shakespeare characters thus far.
